Belgians triumph at the Victoires de la Musique
Angèle and Stromae received the prestigious Artists of the Year awards at the Paris ceremony that rewards the best French music variety artists. And the prize for the Male Revelation of the Year was awarded to Pierre de Maere.
The 38th Victoires de la Musique ceremony had a Belgian flavour this year, with Belgian artists chosen for the annual French music awards in Paris.
Stromae received the trophies for Male Artist and Best Album for "Multitude", which at the age of 37 gives him a total of seven Victoires throughout his career.
Angèle also won two Victoires. Named Female Artist of the year, the 27-year-old singer also received the Victoire for the Most Streamed Album - Female, with "Nonante-Cinq".
We can also pay tribute to young Belgian Pierre de Maere, who left with the award for Male Revelation at the Victoires de la Musique. This young artist combines artistic creation and family collaboration like his idol Stromae. He has just released a brand new album entitled "Regarde-moi".
Belgium can be proud to have artists with such an international influence.
