Belgian universities distinguish themselves in the "QS World University Rankings"
The 7th annual "QS World University Rankings" was revealed last Wednesday. Every year, it publishes a list of the 800 best universities in the world and it is one of the most reputable rankings along with the Times ranking and the Shanghai ranking. In 2017, 18 Belgian university courses appeared in the top 50 of their discipline.

The "QS World University Rankings" analyses 46 disciplines among all the universities in the world and ranks them in the top 50. And Belgium is seriously gaining ground because 18 Belgian courses appear on the list. Among the 18 courses in the annual ranking, 11 are offered by the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), four by Ghent University (UGent), two by the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and one by the University of Liege (ULg).
KU Leuven distinguishes itself by appearing twice in the top 10 for its dentistry and theology courses. Ghent University is recognised for its courses in agriculture and forestry, psychology, sport and veterinary medicine. Philosophy and theology are UCL's strengths, while Liege University earns recognition for its veterinary medicine faculty. On a global level, the American University of Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) come out top with 15 and 12 leading positions respectively.
