Belgian know-how for Morocco’s tallest building

30/03/2026

The tallest building in Morocco, situated in Rabat, has a Belgian flavour to it.

Belgian construction company BESIX, of Grand Egyptian Museum and Burj Khalifa fame, have delivered their latest feet of stellar engineering, the Mohammed VI Tower.

The tower stands 250 metres tall, counts 55 storeys and was developed together with TGCC, a Moroccan partner. The building boasts sustainability with 4,000 square metres of solar panels, and will be used for various purposes including offices, a hotel and an observation deck.

It’s just the latest feat in over a century of stellar Belgian engineering. Among its other recent accomplishment, BESIX helped create a new metro station in Paris for the Olympics in 2024. The company, which was founded in 1909 as a family business under the name Société Belge des Bétons, has quite literally taken over the world, delivering one marvellous project after the other.

We can’t wait to see what BESIX has in store next, whether it be in Belgium, Africa, the Middle East or anywhere else in the world.
