Belgian artist dazzles at the New York Botanical Garden

12/04/2018

This year, for the 16th occasion, the New York Botanical Garden will be the setting for the New York Orchid Show. Each edition focuses on a different theme, and this year the Belgian floral artist and supplier to the Belgian court Daniël Ost will be creating the floral installations for the annual flower event.

This spring, New Yorkers will be able to enjoy the prestigious botanical garden, enhanced by installations by Daniël Ost. His vision for this year's show is that every flower is unique. He will arrange the flowers separately, so that the individual character of each flower is highlighted to its fullest. Although Ost has already built up an impressive career, this event is still a challenge due to the impressive beauty of the setting.

Daniël Ost started his flower business 'Floreal' in Waasland in 1979, where he still lives and works. Ost has a global customer list. For example, he has supplied the floral decorations for the marriage of a sheikh in the desert, for the sacred temples in Kyoto and for the Tomorrowland festival. With the initiatives 'Daniël Ost @ Home' and 'Daniël Ost @ work', he delivers fresh flowers every week to customers at home or at work. Ost has been the official supplier to the Belgian court since 2017. He previously supplied the floral decorations at the church wedding of Queen Mathilde and King Filip.

The works of the Belgian artist can be admired in New York until 22 April.
