Baloji wins UK Music Video Award

Baloji, a Belgian-Congolese director, has won the award for Best Special Visual Project at the UK Music Video Awards.

With his short film, AUGURE: Infinite Trolling, the director who grew up in Ostend and Liège explores the limitations of modern society and the way we process and prioritise information.

The short builds on AUGURE, a long film which won an award at the Cannes film festival and was the Belgian submission for the 2024 Oscars. The long film explores themes like cultural identity, belief and mourning through four characters.

Did you know that, besides being a director, Baloji is also an actor and a musician? He has four solo albums and has acted, among other films, in the 2011 classic Bullhead (“Rundskop” in Dutch), with Matthias Schoenaerts.
