Over the last few years, the Belgian national men's football team, the Red Devils, has staked its place among the world elite. With its many talented players, the Belgian squad currently stands alongside the greatest footballing nations.

Two of our Devils have recently shown the best possible proof of this by being included in UEFA's Team of the Year. Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard have been rewarded for their brilliant season, the first time Belgians have received this accolade since its launch in 2001. These two footballing wizards, who play for English clubs Manchester City and Chelsea respectively, are the only representatives of the Premier League, the highly regarded top division in English football.

Of the 50 players from European clubs to be pre-selected, only 11 are lucky enough to be chosen for this team each year. Supporters from around the world vote for the team on the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) website, with more than 8 million fans voting in this year's poll.

In addition to our two winners, Dries Mertens from Napoli and Thomas Meunier from Paris-Saint-Germain were also included on the pre-selection list, proving that our superstars really are part of the world footballing elite.
