With this Zoo of the Future opening at Tour & Taxis, the general public can enjoy a unique experience until 30 December 2025. The animal protection organisation Gaia is presenting an immersive digital safari, inviting us to rethink the place of zoos in our societies. A tour designed to show that it is possible to awaken curiosity and empathy for animals without resorting to their captivity.
Wearing a virtual reality headset, you're plunged into the wilderness, moving from a lush jungle where monkeys swing from trees to a savannah populated by giraffes and elephants. Your journey ends on the icy tundra, home to playful penguins.
Through the magic of augmented reality, animals appear all around you. They walk, fly or swim as if they were really there. You'll really feel like you're inside a wildlife documentary!
More than just entertainment, this Zoo of the Future encourages ethical thinking about man's relationship with wildlife!
