Worldwide itinerant exhibition Icons is coming to Brussels

17 April 2025 - 31 August 2025
Brussels

After travelling the world with camera in hand, it’s now time for American photographer Steve McCurry to share the fruits of his work and his passion of more than 40 years. Sydney, Madrid, Chicago… his Icons exhibition has already travelled many miles. And for the first time in Belgium, the photographer will be exhibiting in Brussels until the end of the summer.

While the artist’s name remains unknown to some people, his famous photograph Afghan Girl, showing a young refugee with intense green eyes in a camp in Pakistan, should ring a bell. It’s actually what earned him his worldwide reputation. Subsequently, McCurry won many prestigious awards such as the Robert Capa Gold Medal in 1980 and the National Press Photographers Award in 1984.

The Grand-Place exhibition space in Brussels is the place to be. For around one hour and a half, you will have the opportunity to admire more than 100 iconic pictures that retrace the highlights of the photographer’s career. Ancestral traditions, cultures, modernity… Steve McCurry succeeds in creating emotion through his photographs. Moreover, during the visit, an audio guide with personal commentaries by the photographer himself is available. An immersive experience guaranteed!

Steve McCurry Icons can be seen from now until the end of summer 2025.
