Two weeks of classical music in Belgium
March is definitely full of surprises. After literature, it’s classical music lovers’ turn to enjoy.

The Klara Festival is back and will celebrate this year its 20th anniversary from 20 to 30 March 2025. Marked by innovation and tradition, the theme of this new edition is We Are Now. The idea is really to show that classical music is still as popular as ever, despite a constantly changing world. The guest of honour this year will be Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the violin star and composer. Many other Belgian and international artists will also be present. You can enjoy the festival everywhere in Brussels thanks to a number of Belgian partners such as Bozar, Flagey and Kaaitheater.
At the same time, in a more discreet format, the 5th edition of the Averbode Klassiek Festival will take place on the weekends of 15, 16, 22 and 23 March 2025. Founded in 2019, Averbode Klassiek is the concept of three young Belgians with a passion for classic music and concerts. Through their festival, they want us to discover promising young musicians as well as artists who are already well known on the scene. The festival features young talents such as Emma Posman and the Desguin Kwartet, as well as names like Luk Callens and Luc Tooten, who have already made their mark on the world of classic music. This 5th edition will as ever take place in the idyllic and green setting of the abbey of Averbode in Flemish Brabant, bordering on the provinces of Antwerp and Limburg. But that’s not all; for the first time since its creation in 2019, the Averbode Klassiek team will be organizing events outside the abbey gates later in the year. Did you know that you can sleep in the abbey during the festival?
