Gent Jazz: Ten days of music in one of Belgium's finest cities
The 2023 edition of Gent Jazz has kicked off, offering ten days of the most exciting and inspiring music by artists from Belgium and abroad !

In Belgium, summer means festivals, and when one festival ends another begins. Rock Werchter is barely behind us and there is Gent Jazz, trading overdriven heavy guitars and pop hits for subtler sounds.
While jazz is the festival’s “common thread”, the line-up goes broader than that with the likes of Belgian household names like Hooverphonic or Isolde Lasoen (she’s been the drummer for DAAN and Absynthe Minded among others).
Among the other big Belgian acts that are part of the festival are a collaboration between the Brussels Jazz Orchestra and legendary jazz trio Aka Moon. Their drummer, Stéphane Galland, will also perform with his Rhythm Hunters, made up of musicians from Japan, France, Tunisia and the Netherlands.
Of course, international greats will make appearances too, with the likes of Marcus Miller, Mavis Staples, Herbie Hancock and Norah Jones to turn their concerts on the main stage into an unforgettable time, place and experience.
Gent Jazz also sponsors talented young jazz artists, putting the spotlight on ambitious projects and giving them a platform as well as financial support.
So if you want to paint the town…and all that jazz…rush over to their website and get your tickets before they’re sold out!
