Filem’on film festival for youngsters, all about liberty
Youngsters of the world rejoice: the 19th edition of Filem’on, a film festival for youths, is just around the corner!
The theme of this edition of Filem’on is “Sans bornes”, which means without limits, and within that, there’s no end to what one can imagine. The end of October and the beginning of November will give kids limitless opportunities to discover new films in various venues across Brussels.
Kids who’ve caught the cinematic bug can enjoy both Belgian and foreign productions, with new films like L’été de Jahia, directed by Olivier Meys, and classics like Kirikou et la sorcière, The BFG or the evergreen A series of unfortunate events.
In addition, various awards are up for grabs at the festival, like the best TV film for children, best European feature film for a young audience, and the best feature film for children. It’ll be just like Hollywood, but in the heart of Europe!
From the cultural temple of Bozar to classic cinemas like Nova via more exotic locations including TrainWorld in Schaerbeek, all of Brussels will be taken over by the seventh art. And get this, you can even partake in film workshops. Ah, to be young and cinematic!
