European Mobility Week in Belgium
European Mobility Week will take place from 16 to 22 September 2018. As in previous years, Belgium will actively participate to show the public that alternative means of transport are possible. The week promises to be packed with events, allowing citizens to discover, try out and even adopt the new alternative mobility services.
In Flanders, the week will be organised around the theme of sustainable mobility. Various initiatives will be proposed to present the benefits of walking, public transport, carpooling, etc. More information can be found here.
In Brussels, the week will culminate with 'Car-Free Sunday' on Sunday 16 September. For one day, our capital will become the largest car-free zone in Europe, giving citizens the opportunity to reclaim Brussels' public space for themselves. More information can be found here.
In Wallonia, the activities will focus on "eliminating traffic jams" by encouraging citizens to test other means of transport: RAVeL tracks, alternative modes of transport, and initiatives developed by schools, municipalities and partner companies. More information can be found here.
