Brussels Heritage Days
The upcoming Heritage Days in the Brussels-Capital Region will take place on 15 and 16 September 2018 with the theme "Heritage, that's us!"...
To mark "2018, European Year of Cultural Heritage", the Brussels-Capital Region set itself a new challenge: ask citizens to talk about their heritage, and get them to create the programme for the Heritage Days. As such, the call for projects "Heritage, that's us!" was launched in September 2017: citizens were invited to submit projects that would make it possible for people to discover the heritage to which they are attached, in their own original, alternative and fun way.
It was a success: the Monuments and Sites Directorate received over a hundred projects. 95 of these were selected by the jury. These projects now constitute the programme for the 30th edition of the Heritage Days.
This unmissable event, which will open up numerous, often less well-known locations, will also offer a completely new perspective, possibly surprising visitors, but definitely delighting them, by the sheer variety of the projects presented. It will be a reflection of the vision that citizens, institutions, associations and committees have of their heritage. The public is therefore invited to take part in a whole range of activities, which place movable heritage, built heritage and intangible heritage all in the spotlight. These are often surprising, sometimes unusual, but always endearing.
