Brussels Art Nouveau & Art Deco Festival (BANAD)
Brussels is organising the second BANAD festival between 10 and 25 March. This event will place the Brussels-Capital Region's art nouveau and art deco heritage in the spotlight.
The programme contains a wide range of activities, including visits to the interior of sixty houses. This is a unique opportunity, as many of these buildings are usually never accessible to the public. There are a great many architectural jewels to discover, such as the Flagey Building in Ixelles, the former studio of the sculptor Ernest Salu in Laeken, the interior of the Wolfers Frères jewellery shop in the Cinquantenaire Museum, the old studio apartment belonging to sculptor Fernand Dubois in Forest, and the residence in Uccle designed by the architect Marcel Spittael.
There will also be guided tours on foot, by bus or by bicycle, conferences, concerts, performances, presentations and an exhibition.
The BANAD festival is one of the many events organised on the theme of Horta Inside Out, as part of the Victor Horta Year.
