The almost perfect crime
Until 30 April 2019, you can visit an exhibition all about crime which is being held at STAM, the Ghent City Museum. Since the 1930s, the Ghent criminal police unit has amassed a very special collection in its "Museum of Crime", accessible only to trainee police officers or by invitation. STAM is now making the material in this collection accessible to everyone.
The exhibition presents the investigation techniques that were used to solve the crimes, including recording physical evidence, ballistics, witness statements and reconstructions, together with the intervention of forensic and other experts. These techniques, illustrated using the original evidence, guide you through the exhibition.
It looks at infamous and lesser-known murders and thefts throughout the Ghent region. This extraordinary collection is bound to awaken the detective in you.
