AFROPOLITAN Festival 2018
Organised for the second consecutive year, and in the aftermath of the 2015 European Year for Development, the AFROPOLITAN Festival offers three days of (re)discovering Afropolitan art, creativity and thought. This year's theme is "Black Artlantic".
The festival's programming - and the whole of February - is inspired by the concept of the Black Atlantic developed by the English sociologist Paul Girloy. It honours African and Afro-descendant artists and intellectuals from Europe, Africa and the United States.
From Brussels to Los Angeles, by way of Abidjan, Kinshasa and Addis, the festival becomes a crossroads of creations, encounters and exchanges by offering some fifteen multidisciplinary events: concerts, debates, films, premieres, talks, slam and hip hop performances, craft market, fashion show, DJ-VJ party, African cuisine, panafrican bookshop, programmes for children, dancing and singing workshops and exhibitions.
