200 outstanding works at La Boverie
Until 18 August 2019, visitors to La Boverie museum in Liège can see a selection of 200 masterpieces by masters from the Renaissance to the avant-garde movements. The exhibition presents outstanding works from the collection of the Liège Museum of Fine Arts, with the spotlight on certain artists such as Henri Evenepoel, Rik Wouters, James Ensor, Pol Bury and his kinetic sculptures, and Cobra.
There are plenty of works by world-renowned artists such as Ingres, Monet, Pissarro, Picasso, Chagall, Arp, Magnelli, Debré, Hantaï, Monory and Gilbert & George, but the Belgians are not to be outdone, as in addition to those already mentioned, we can add Constant Permeke, Emile Claus, the Surrealists René Magritte and Paul Delvaux, Pierre Alechinsky, Marthe Wéry, and Liège artists Lambert Lombard, Gérard de Lairesse, Léonard Defrance and Jean Rets.
La Boverie museum is set in a verdant landscape and is both a Fine Arts museum and an internationally famous exhibition centre. For additional information and practical information, go to https://en.laboverie.com/exhibitions/upcoming-exhibitions/liege-chefs-d2019oeuvre-works-of-art.
