Stromae puts on a show before his return to the stage

22/12/2021

The great return of Stromae. Yes, he's back in the spotlight. And his promotional campaign has included American and French TV shows with surprising and beautiful performances from his new album, Multitude.

He has once again caused a sensation, first and foremost during 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', where he appeared alongside Nicole Kidman and Úrsula Corberó (La Casa del Papel).

First of all, his look, with a white shirt with ruffle, black ribbon, and his hair in macaron buns. The shooting gives the impression of being on a children's roundabout, which contrasts with the message conveyed by the song's lyrics. During his performance, surrounded by dancers, he combined sobriety, originality, casualness and the power of the message through his own distinctive rhythm. It is a mix of Latin American cumbia and electro.

The Maestro also created the event live on the set of the TV news programme of French channel TF1. As the journalist talked about his years of unhappiness, Stromae, in his suit and tie, answered her without batting an eyelid by launching into “l’enfer” L'enfer, taken from his future album Multitude. This was pure Stromae who, in addition to the release of his new album next March, has also announced a return to the stage in February 2022 in Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam. And because music also means festivals, he will be at the Werchter festival in June and then at the Ardentes in Liège in July. Once again, he remains Formidable!

Like other big names in music, such as Sting in 2018 and Florent Pagny in 2020, Stromae has been given the role of honorary president of the Victoires de la Musique 2022.

Nine years after his last opus, "Racine carrée", we are all looking forward to celebrating the person who "celebrates those who don't celebrate". And to rediscovering this singer, who knows so well how to make us dance and think.

While you wait, watch the video of Stromae's performance on NBC  and TF1
