X-Fab and Schréder named Entrepreneurs of the Year 2024
The prestigious title of Entrepreneur of the Year (Onderneming van het Jaar/Entreprise de l'Année) 2024 has been awarded to the chip manufacturer X-Fab from Tessenderlo and lighting specialist Schréder from Brussels. The scale-ups that also received an award were Equine Care Group from Lummen and Dog Chef from Huldenberg.
Back in December and from a total of eight finalists, two companies were voted Entrepreneur of the Year and two others were voted Scale-up of the Year 2024. All of the winners and nominees have demonstrated entrepreneurship, excellence, innovation, international expansion, sustainability and corporate governance in their fields.
On the Dutch-speaking side, the award went to X-Fab, Europe's leading producer of semiconductors and analogue chips for the automotive and medical sectors. The company's decision-making centre is located in Tessenderlo and it also has six factories in Europe and employs more than 4,500 people. The award-winning scale-up was Equine Care Group from Lummen, a collective of equine clinics that works in partnership with a veterinary practice. On the French-speaking side, the award went to the Brussels-based company Schréder, a world-renowned supplier of smart premium outdoor lighting that employs more than 2,600 people in 70 countries. The scale-up that received an award there is Dog Chef, the manufacturer of fresh and healthy dog meals.
The winners will now join a host of big names that have gone before them, notably Studio 100, Omega Pharma and Real Software, which are active in entertainment, pharmaceuticals and software, respectively.
