Aertssen Group, active in construction and industry, and Odoo, in management software, have won the Company of the Year Award, nominated by a jury of academic and business representatives.

Organised around a collaboration between the media outlets L'Echo and De Tijd, and in partnership with BNP Paribas Fortis bank, this ceremony honours the companies of the year, on both the French and the Dutch-speaking sides. The awards, given by the highest political bodies, are presented by a jury composed of a mix of business and academic representatives.

For Flanders, the award went to the family company Aertssen Group, based in Stabroek (Province of Antwerp). Involved in construction and industry as a partner for major infrastructure works, this company currently employs more than 1,300 people and had a turnover close to 300 million euros in 2021. With its capital entirely owned by the Aertssen family, the company has managed to post a 50% growth in sales over the last five years, while hiring the same number of staff.

On the French-speaking side, the award went to IT company Odoo, based in Grand-Rosière (Province of Walloon Brabant). This company, founded in 2005, has also experienced strong growth in recent years, and has launched one of the most popular business management software packages in the world today. With 7 million users currently, Odoo was also rewarded for its innovation and market share acquisition strategies.

Belgium has many great business success stories, such as these, in different fields.
