Belgium an interesting investment market for U.S. e-commerce giant Amazon
The recent Belgian economic mission to California came home with a nice catch: €1 billion in investments from the American online retailer Amazon.

American entrepreneur Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 1994, and the company grew from an online bookstore into the largest retailer in the world. It recently announced its intention to invest a staggering €1 billion in Belgium up to 2027, in tranches. The cash will be invested in logistics infrastructure, robotics, additional staff for the online retailer's mechatronics department, better guidance for Belgian SMEs in marketing their products in Belgium as well as across the border via the Amazon global platform and, last but not least, same-day delivery of orders. In general, the intention is to further improve customer service.
Federal and regional agencies have praised Amazon's project as a welcome and interesting opportunity to give entrepreneurship a foothold in our country and strengthen it abroad.
In short, improvements in various areas are in the pipeline.
