The Belgian low-cost drone company making heads turn

A Belgian company making low-cost drones for defence purposes is catching the public’s eye.

In these complex modern times, the drone industry is booming, and the little zappers are being used in various conflicts to achieve military goals. A Belgian company has found a way to offer low-cost drones designed to defend against other drones, can be used for surveillance or to protect critical infrastructure.

The company, named ALX Systems, is based in Liège, in Wallonia, and was one of dozens displaying its products at Bedex, Belgium’s first defence fair that brought 150 exhibitors to the Heysel site in Brussels. It’s an all-Belgian affair, with drones designed and produced fully in-house. Decades of software and robotics development have led ALX to a confident stance in an ever-growing and competitive market.

Belgium is spearheading the European defence industry, just as it is a leader in other markets. May its defence companies help keep Europe safe.
