Belgian company builds Germany's largest Center Parcs

A company from Limburg, Machiels Building Solutions (MBS), has signed a deal with Center Parcs to build 401 holiday homes in the Allgäu, a region in southern Germany. This Genk-based company specialises in timber-framed buildings, an ecological method which also allows buildings to be erected very rapidly. MBS produces the buildings in Genk before transporting them to Germany, where they are assembled on-site.

MBS began their work in August 2017 and, if everything goes according to plan, the project will be completed in July 2018. The company has employed an additional 50 staff members for this project and expects to double their turnover. The 401 holiday homes are part of a holiday park featuring over 1000 bungalows; a project worth 320 million euros. Park Allgäu plans to open its doors at the end of 2018 and will be Germany's largest holiday park.
