Air Cargo Belgium takes off
Recently the non-profit organization Air Cargo Belgium was officially presented at Brussels Airport. The new umbrella organization unites all companies and stakeholders at BRUcargo, the air freight section of the national airport. In doing so Air Cargo Belgium will seek to give our country a prominent place on the map as a logistics hub.

Air Cargo Belgium will try to further professionalize and optimize the air freight section of the airport by supporting the companies at BRUcargo. Besides, the new air freight organization will be responsible for the general coordination and the execution of common projects. The new structure must ensure that Brussels Airport remains a preferred European airport.
“The creation of this non-profit organization is a major step for the entire freight section of Brussels Airport”, as states Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company. “This section now consists of nearly 5000 persons with diverse jobs at the airport. An additional 10000 persons indirectly owe their job to the air freight at BRUcargo.”
As a strong growth of the air freight transport is expected for the coming years, this type of transport will play a prominent role as a driving force for the world economy. Moreover, the growth of airport transportation can represent an added value to the Belgian economy since only high-value products such as pharmaceuticals and fresh products are transported this way.
