Aerospacelab opened its first US satellite manufacturing facility
Belgian satellite manufacturer Aerospacelab, headquartered in Mont-Saint -Guibert, has inaugurated its first production plant in Los Angeles, California.
In the US, Aerospacelab will primarily build satellites for communication and Earth observation, but ones that satisfy the regulations and technical requirements of the American market. The company will soon begin with the assembly, integration and testing of its share in the satellite constellation which the American start-up Xona Space Systems has developed and which will be able to replace the present GPS systems.
The requirements in the field of communication satellites on the American institutional and military market are growing and the Walloon satellite manufacturer aims to respond to this with its factory in California.
