Train World a hit with visitors

15/09/2017

Opened on 25 September 2015, the Train World museum in Schaerbeek has already welcomed more than 300,000 visitors in the space of less than two years. "Our aim since the beginning has been to make the history of Belgian railway accessible to all, from experts to the very youngest visitors. We are happy to have succeeded in this challenge", declares the Director Pieter Jonckers.

On 16 and 17 September, SNCB will celebrate the second anniversary of its train museum. During this festive weekend, railway museum enthusiasts will have the opportunity to admire Eurostar's brand-new high-speed train (E320, 320 km/hour and 400 m long). For the occasion, Train World will also launch its series of stamps produced by François Schuiten.

This museum, which, as we have said, has experienced a great success, has become one of the most visited railway museums in Europe. In its 8,000 m2 space, visitors are able to discover 1,250 objects and watch 64 films. This impressive collection and the extraordinary scenography by the artist François Schuiten explain its success. Thanks to its ideal location, next to Schaerbeek train station, it is easily accessible by train. Furthermore, SNCB offers an advantageous B-Excursion which includes the journey by train and entry to the museum.
