Nine Belgian beers among the best in the world

08/02/2018

Nine of the world's 100 best beers are Belgian. This is considered a good result, even though 14 of our beers were included in last year's list.

We are not the country of beer for nothing! In its annual rankings, RateBeer, the biggest social media site for the brewing world, has produced a list of the 100 best beers in the world. Our country produces no fewer than nine of them!

The Belgian beers that attracted the attention of the specialised website are: Bokkereyder Framboos Noyaux, Bokkereyder Framboos Puur, Bokkereyder Framboos Vanille, Cantillon Blåbær Lambik, Cantillon Lou Pepe Pure Kriek, Cantillon Soleil de Minuit, Het Anker Gouden Carolus Cuvée Van De Keizer Imperial Dark (Blauw Label), Rochefort Trappistes 10 and Westvleteren 12 (XII).

However, it is impossible to know how these beers ranked in relation to the other 91. The international website RateBeer decided to create a list of 100 beers selected from among hundreds of thousands of others, and to place them in alphabetical order. So these precious beverages to be enjoyed with moderation are not ranked, although our nine national beers are definitely among the 100 best in the world!
