VUB and ULB lectures now also in the heart of Brussels
During the academic year, at the top of the Ravenstein rotunda, it is now possible to catch the odd psychology lecture, debate or symposium organised by the VUB or ULB behind the tall windows. Both universities recently teamed up with Bozar to start this brand new concept konekt brussels from scratch, aimed at generating permanent cross-fertilisation of knowledge, ideas and best practice in the field of education, research, technology, society, art and culture. While the universities seek some ‘real’ life in the city centre, Bozar wishes to get closer to the students and the university's great knowledge. Mutual benefits in other words.
The foundation of Bozar Lab, a lab for artistic experiments and supported by the VUB, is a lovely example. The ULB and many other partners in Brussels, such as Muntpunt, SNCB, STIB-MIVB, FEB and the BELvue Museum, are also becoming involved. A suitable location will be tracked down for each project, but Bozar will remain in control.
The slogan is: ‘Break down the barriers, return to the city, get out of your comfort zone’. The Brussels City Campus aims to apply all of its knowledge to make Brussels stronger, by formulating answers to the challenges facing a large city.
