This year, Pairi Daiza won 6 awards at the Diamond Theme Park Awards, the equivalent of the Oscars for zoos and theme parks.

Pairi Daiza not only received the 2017 award for best zoo in Belgium and the Netherlands for the fifth consecutive year, but was also presented with the awards for Best Habitat for the White Tiger Temple and the Best Birth for the arrival of Tian Bao, a baby Giant Panda.

There are 5,000 animals from all over the world at Pairi Daiza, including birds, mammals, fish and reptiles. Located on the site of the former abbey of Cambron, the Belgian zoo attaches great importance to the preservation of endangered species and ensures their reproduction through around thirty scientific programmes.

Eric Domb, CEO of Pairi Daiza, said: "It is an honour to receive these Awards which recognise the tireless work of all the teams at Pairi Daiza (...) For us this is extra encouragement to continue our work in order to offer our visitors an ever more beautiful journey."
