A short time ago, London-based newspaper, the Financial News published the list of the 100 most influential women in financial services. This was based on a study among market participants. Lieve Mostrey, CEO of the international company Euroclear is the only Belgian woman to feature on the list. Despite this, she is still relatively unknown by the general public.

Lieve Mostrey has been named as one of the 100 most influential women in financial services. Euroclear, the company she has led as a CEO since the beginning of this year, has 3,850 employees and is one of two international central securities depositories. Lieve Mostrey is therefore responsible for 27.7 billion of securities held with Euroclear by worldwide banks. The company is little known among the general public because most of its customers are financial institutions, with which the company has a very good reputation.

Before joining Euroclear, in 2010, Lieve Mostrey gave up her position as Chief IT & Operations Officer at BNP Paribas Fortis, where for 27 years she had been responsible not only for IT, but also purchasing, the back office and facilities. After studying civil engineering at KUL and gaining a postgraduate degree in economics at VUB, she began her career in the IT department at Société Générale. She has now climbed the ranks to become one of the leading women in Belgium's financial sector.
