Adil El Arbi is a Belgian director and screenwriter who was recently appointed by the European Young Leaders Program (EYL40). This program aims at promoting the European identity by recruiting the most promising talents for Europe’s future.

Adil El Arbi was born in Edegem in June 1988 and lives now in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe. He studied cinema at the Campus Sint-Lucas, a section of the Hogeschool voor Wetenschap en Kunst, in Brussels. Adil seems to be the perfect candidate for the EYL40 program, whose purpose is to take variety in consideration and to represent promising European leadership from all over the continent.

Adil is of Moroccan origin and was born in Flanders. He succeeded in shining brilliantly in the field of cinema, which he first saw as a place reserved to white people. His first film “Image”, co-realized with Bilal Fallah was released in 2014. The same year, he participated and won the Belgian TV quiz called “The smartest person in the world” (De Slimte Mens ter Wereld) which gave him the opportunity to be invited to many TV shows. After that, he made his second film called “Black” about urban gangs in Belgium. Finally, in 2016, his name was quoted for the realization of the movie “Le Flic de Beverly Hills”. Adil is notching up success after success quickly, which allows him to become more and more famous. His election to the European Young Leader Program will most probably serve him as a professional key to go even further in his career.
