Ivo Van Hove is to direct another production at London's National Theatre in 2017. The Belgian theatre producer is becoming increasingly popular abroad. Last year Van Hove even won two prestigious theatre awards in New York.

Once again the National Theatre in London has called on the Belgian theatre producer Ivo Van Hove to direct one of its shows. Having taken the production ‘Hedda Gabler’ to great heights he has now been asked to set to work on a new piece called ‘Network’ this coming autumn. This is a theatre production of a film with the same name dating back to 1976, and targeting large media companies. The actor Bryan Cranston, from the well-known TV series Breaking Bad, will be playing the leading role in the theatre production.

London has been excited by Van Hove’s work for some time now. Indeed, he was involved with David Bowie in making the musical theatre production ‘Lazarus’ and in April he will be launching the show called ‘Obsession’. His English success follows similar achievements in the Netherlands. As the director of the theatre group named Toneelgroep Amsterdam he has caught people's attention in recent years, and was awarded two prestigious drama prizes in New York last year. His aim is to try and break down barriers with his revolutionary works. In his pieces he goes in search of what lies beyond comfortable limits.
