Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker named Choreographer of the Year

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker has been named Choreographer of the Year. The Belgian choreographer received this recognition from the leading German magazine Tanz, as a reward for her successful year.

42 international dance critics award the title to Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker for her sensational performances in the past year, including:  Die Weise von Liebe und Tod des Cornets Christophe Rilke and Work/Travail/arbeid, an exhibition project that was performed in the Centre Pompidou in Paris and in theTate Modern in London. Besides, her repertoire performance Bartók/Beethoven/Schönberg was danced by the Paris Opera Ballet.

This autumn, dance enthusiasts will have the opportunity to admire Rain, one of her most popular creations, in the Cirque Royal in Brussels. Later this year and early next year, the Paris Opera and MoMa New York have programmed some of her choreographies.

Previously, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker has been named twice dancer of the year by the same magazine.
