Studio 100 takes over American Animation Company

07/12/2017

Studio 100 has taken over the animation company Little Airplane Productions. Quite a catch, as they have already won 21 Emmy Awards. The company works with names that include Disney, Nickelodeon and Netflix and is also active in China.

With this takeover, Studio 100 is taking a new international step on the market for children's animation films. The Antwerp-based company previously took over two German businesses, involving the rights to popular figures such as Pipi Longstocking, Maya the Bee and Heidi. Studio 100 has also opened animation studios in Paris and Sydney.

Little Airplane Productions was founded by Josh Selig and is famous for series such as The Small Potatoes, P. King Duckling and Super Wings. The latter was made in China for the local market. It is not known how much Studio 100 paid for the takeover.
