Located in the suburbs of Tehran, the Iran Mall, currently under construction, intends to rival the gigantic shopping malls of Dubai by 2017. The Belgian company, Buzon, which manufactures polypropylene pedestals, is intervening in this project worth €2.5 billion, initiated by IMCC (Iran Mall Commercial Company), one of the largest Iranian private investors in the sector.

In Iran, since the lifting of the international embargo, large real estate projects are succeeding one another. The reopening of the interior market of this country of more than 80 million inhabitants is attracting companies from all over the world. In the same way as Dubai, the country is launching impressive shopping mall projects. The largest of them, the Iran Mall, will cover more than a million square metres in the suburbs of Tehran. It will be the largest shopping mall in the world, perceived as a symbol of Iranian national pride and the country's wish to open up to the world.  The terrace of this impressive structure, covering 70,000 square metres, will rest largely on pedestals from the Belgian company, Buzon.

Created in 1987 by Claude Buzon, the Walloon company has a presence in 35 countries all over the world. It has worked on projects such as the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the Marina Bay Sands complex in Singapore, and the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. The company continues to be the global leader on this market, despite competition from Asia and counterfeit products.  The reputation of Buzon terrace pedestals is the result of a long experience and a wish to meet the very strict standards of architect firms, terrace construction professionals and the professional standards in force.

Buzon has already supplied 80,000 pedestals for the Iran Mall and hopes to equip the mall's entire terrace, which requires a total of 210,000 pedestals. "We are not the cheapest, but we offer a service. We go to the worksites, we support our customers, we even help them to reduce their order. Also, we offer a 20 to 25-year warranty on our products. We do not sell pedestals, we sell solutions," explains Laurent Buzon, head of sales and exports.

Buzon, based in Herstal, Belgium, is on its 4th generation of adjustable pedestals, with a production of 3 million units a year manufactured in two factories (one in Belgium and the other in Portugal). In 2014, the SME realised a turnover of €4.9 million, a figure in constant progress, 85% of which for export.
