Besix reaches new heights in Dubai

The Belgian group, Besix, has just landed the contract for the preliminary works to the construction of “The Tower” in Dubai. From its 1000 meters high, it will be the world’s tallest tower.

The Belgian construction company has officially announced that it has landed the contract to build the foundations of the world’s highest building called “The Tower”, in Dubai. This is not the first time that Besix takes on such a large scale project. Indeed, the city inaugurated the Burj Khalifa in 2009, currently the world’ highest tower, which was built by the Belgian group in collaboration with Samsung.

This comes as good news for Besix which has registered an increase in its turnover since last year, and certainly for its new CEO, Rik Vandenberghe. The company has delivered solid results in Europe and in the Middle-east, and is expected to continue above trend based upon its current backlog.

“The Tower” will be at least 1000 meters high and should be completed by 2020, before the World Expo that will take place from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 in Dubai. Thus, it will surpass the Burj Khalifa which already measures 830 meters.

Besix Group now hopes to land the contract for the full construction of the tower. It has already maximized its chances by “offering a method which will help to finish the construction one year earlier”.
